    The Two Sons of Adam ('alayhis-salam)

    Through the choices of Hābil and Qābil, children learn how jealousy can darken a heart, and sincerity earns Allah's pleasure.

    After Allah, the most high, created Prophet Adam Alayhi Salaam and his wife Hawwa Alayhas-Salaam, He blessed them with many children.

    Among their children were two sons - Habil and Qabil.

    Hābil was a shepherd. He was gentle and humble, remembered Allah, and lived with kindness.

    Qābil was a farmer. He worked on his land but was proud and arrogant.

    A dispute arose between the two brothers. To settle it, Allah tested them both to see who was sincere. Each was told to make a sacrifice for His sake.

    Hābil offered one of his best sheep, and Qābil offered poor crops from his harvest.
