A long time ago, after the time of Nūḥ (ʿalayhis-salām), there lived a powerful people called ʿĀd. They were very strong and clever. They built big houses, beautiful gardens, and tall buildings. They could make almost anything they wanted. But the people of ʿĀd forgot about Allāh (ʿazza wa jall) - the One who created them, gave them homes and land, and blessed them with strength. They instead started praying to idols - big stone statues that could not speak, hear, or help them.
